Liam is walking! I still surprises me when I turn around and he is just sauntering across the room like its no big deal.
Well except for the mouth hanging open in excitement. And I figured out where he got that from...
This is a picture of me learning to walk:
The last few weeks Jake and I have also been busy working out the design side of our new house! I have lots of ideas swirling around in my head, and am very excited about how its going to look. It is a little overwhelming to pick out a new kitchen, flooring, paint colours and everything else, but we are having a lot of fun doing it too. I also found some really nice prints on etsy.com, and this seller is having a buy two get one free sale: check it out if your looking for some new art work!

our new house
Jake and I very recently purchased a house! We are very excited about it; its our dream place, a rancher with a nice sized backyard in a beautiful neighborhood in East Abbotsford. We get possession in June, and will be renovating it before we move in, so this summer will be busy but in a fun way.
Here it is!
The house was built in the 60's, and needs some renovations, but the core of the house is perfect, and I happen to be married to a Renovator, so this is exactly what we wanted.
I didn't get a good shot of the backyard, you can see a little bit of it here, but this doesn't do it justice. (And yes, that shelter will be going, along with a bunch of other junk in the yard).
And some of my favorite aspects of the house, the family room with the cute corner fireplace and the big windows:
While we were at the house I happened to meet some of the new neighbors, they all seem to know each other, and look out for one another. Its a real family oriented street, and will be perfect to raise a family there.
On a disappointing note while I was in the house my car got keyed by a bunch of teenagers. They assure me that isn't typical, but its still sad nonetheless.

my baby is one
Liam turned one yesterday! I am not sure where the time went, it seems like only yesterday that we were coming home from the hospital with a tiny newborn, and now he is almost walking, has six teeth, and wants to do everything himself. I have been planning his birthday party for weeks months, and trust me when I say the final version was very scaled back from the one I was picturing in my head.
Dog Cupcakes, this little guy loves dogs, so it was only fitting.
My wonderful sister helped me decorate them, otherwise I would have been up past midnight, and they would not have turned out so cute.
